Himachal is  blessed with natural riches. The winding rivers, mountain lakes, snow-peaked mountains and lush green forests make great venues for adventure lovers.  

River Rafting : 

Rivers in Himachal Pradesh originate at the Himalayan glaciers. They have attracted river water rafters from india and overseas. You can take guided rafting on river Sutlej at tattapani near Shimla, at Pirdi on river Beas near Kullu, on the river Ravi near Chamba and Spiti river in Lahaul and Spiti district. 

Paragliding: 

Himachal’s paragliding sites are among the best in India. You can go for paragliding at Bir Billing in Kangra district. Another popular site for paragliding is Solang valley nest Manali which offers spellbinding bird’s eye view of the valley below. Bandla Dhar near Bilaspur has an ideal landing ground with the scenic Gobindpur Sagar lake beside it.

Trekking :

There are hundreds of trails through fields, orchards, ascending over mountain peaks, across deep woods, crossing water streams and waterfalls, under oak trees to glacial lakes and mountain top pilgrimage walks. Himachal is a playground for trekkers.

Skiing : 

Himachal Tourism offers ski courses at Narkanda, a skiing resort in the district of Shimla. Solang Nala, Rohtang Pass and Hanuman Tibba in Manali are few places where skiing courses are conducted. Helicopter airlifts you from Manali and carry you to high altitude snow slopes, and drops you for a thrilling heli-skiing adventure. 

Buddhist Circuit : 

Hhimachal Pradesh has historical connections with Buddhism. The sacred Rewalsar lake in mandi, monastery of Tabo, Dhankar monastery, Kye monastery in Spiti valley and the many monasteries of Lahaul are testimonies of the living traditions of buddhism in india. India’s own “mini tibet” – Mcleodganj has many famous monasteries.

Hindu Shrines :

The Pin Valley national park is a beautiful tributary valley of Spiti. It harbours some rare endangered species of wild animals including the snow leopard. The Kalatop-Khajjiar sanctuary can be reached from both Dalhousie and Chamba. Khirganga national park in Kullu shares boundary to the north of the great Himalayan national park. Kibber wildlife sanctuary is the only cold desert wildlife sanctuary in india where the elusive snow leopard, ibex and blue sheep and birds like Himalayan snowcock and golden eagle take shelter.

Apple Orchards : 

Apple orchards in Himachal are a popular tourist attraction. You can learn about the cultivation process at the farms. Kinnaur, Kotagarh, Kullu, Shimla, Ramgarh (solan district), Sainj valley(Kullu district) and some parts of Lahaul-Spiti are few destinations for apple orchards.

Tea Gardens : 

Himachal also has spectacular tea gardens. Visit the Kangra tea estate famous for its green and black tea, the tea plantations of Palampur and Narghita tea estates near Dharamshala.

Manali :
